Getting Started with EFT – Fundamentals of Emotionally Focused Therapy.
A 1-day live online training where you’ll learn the basic EFT roadmap, key interventions and how to apply them with individuals and couples. Perfect for therapists new to EFT.
We Offer
Couples Therapy
We help couples understand the negative cycles they get stuck in and build safer, more secure emotional bonds. Our members provide EFT-based couples therapy online and in-person across India.
Individual Therapy
Therapists connected with India EFT Council support individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship distress using attachment-based EFT principles.
Therapist Training
We design trainings, workshops and supervision groups for counsellors, psychologists, and mental health professionals who want to integrate EFT in their practice.

What is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)?
EFT focuses on the patterns that couples and individuals get stuck in when they feel disconnected or unsafe. By slowing down the process in the room and working with emotions in the present moment, therapists help clients express their deeper needs and longings.
At India EFT Council, we are dedicated to bringing high-quality EFT training and supervision to therapists across India, so more clients can experience safe, connected relationships.
Who are we?
India EFT Council is the Affiliated organizing and training body for therapists learning and practicing Emotionally Focused Therapy, in all modalities. We’re here to support therapists on their journey to become ICEEFT Certified as EFT Therapists and Supervisors.
We are passionate about Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Our mission is to support mental health professionals in India to learn, practice and grow in EFT.
We organise trainings with certified EFT trainers, host peer consultation groups, and create learning spaces that are culturally sensitive and grounded in Indian realities. Whether you are just beginning your EFT journey or are an experienced practitioner, you are welcome here.

In Person Events are Coming Up
India EFT Council hosted a special workshop with Dr. Ananya Mehra on advanced EFT interventions for high-conflict couples. Therapists explored micro-skills, live demonstrations, and practical tools they can use immediately in sessions.
EFT Coming to Bangalore
The Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) Externship is the foundational training for therapists seeking to develop competence in attachment-based couples work. This four-day in-person Externship brings EFCT to India through the India EFT Council.
EFT is the Gold Standard
EFCT is one of the most well-researched and empirically supported approaches to couples therapy. With more than 25 years of randomized trials, follow-ups, process studies, and FMRI research showlasting improvements in satisfaction, security and bonding.
Free Webinar on Working with Trauma
This end of the year bonus, a second free webinar introduces Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy for Trauma work’ by EFT Trainer/Supervisor and Co-leader of Stockholm EFT Centre, Marianne Gustafsson (who is also conducting in-person EFT trainings in Bangalore in Feb, 2026!) on Dec 19th from 5.30-6.30 PM IST/1-2 PM CET.

We are proud to announce that India EFT Council has finally been recognised as an official Indian body by The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in India.
This site is a space built with care, collaboration, and ethical clarity—for EFT therapists as well as explorers of this format of therapy—to learn, reflect, and connect.
In India, where no central therapy regulatory body exists, it is vital that professional communities are shaped with intention and clinical grounding. That is why this council matters: it marks the first ICEEFT-endorsed body for EFT in India, and serves as the gathering point for building toward an ICEEFT-accredited organisation for India.
We are in ongoing collaboration with ICEEFT to move this vision forward in the months to come. Grounded in EFT’s core values—attunement, collaboration, and trust—our mission is to nurture an ethically sound, clinically excellent, and future-facing EFT community.

Certified EFT Trainer Simona Herb Presented on Working with Reactivity
It was super exciting to have an engaging FREE webinar on Nov 20th, hosted by the newly ICEEFT-affiliated India EFT Council and facilitated by the fantastic Certified EFT Trainer/Supervisor Dr. Simona Herb. All who attended learn a. lot on on using EFT to work with high emotional reactivity in couples therapy—it is an area many therapists have struggled with at one point or another. Learning more about EFT’s warm, compassionate way of defusing this kind of conflict in couples therapy was truly valuable for everyone who attended.
